Last year I suggested a precept increase in line with inflation, to protect the PC’s funding. The Chair advised that the villagers could not afford a rise and no increase took place. The precept element of Council Tax makes up only a very small part of our bills, for example Stubton’s Band D equivalent is £18 per month.
This year someone with the council obviously know what precept is, as they have suggested a 10% increase indefinitely to pay for an invisible clerk. Below, I have listed how it compounds very quickly.
I totally agree with a precept increase every year in line with inflation, this should be the default. But to increase above inflation, is unnecessary. Below are incremental examples of 10% increases.

Finally, why do entities in this village fail to publish finances? Strangely, the PC have not published the monthly spreadsheet since July 2023, which is bizarre..
